Curl up with a Good Book update

So I dusted this project off and I'm trying to finish page 1 by the end of the year. I'm doing it on 22 count 3 over 1 tent stitches. I hate all the confetti stitches but they really do add to the overall look of the piece. I just wish I had a better way to tackle those solo stitches.
